Michael Dillhyon, President of Vital Connect Europe, is a professional with an outstanding track record in leading, founding and advising businesses in the fields of life sciences, biosciences, eHealth. We talk about recent advances in health-patches – tiny self-powered adhesive devices that can be placed directly on the patient’s body for non-invasive, continuous, remote monitoring of several vital signs and metrics. In the second part of our discussion we talk about the tidal wave of change on our every-day perception of health, fitness and health – a change powered by the convergence of several disciplines and underlined by what we call Human Analytics. Michael Dillhyon is President of Vital Connect Europe. Before joining Vital Connect, Michael was the Founder/CEO of Geneva-based healthbank, a citizen-owned, global open health data cooperative. He is also a General Partner with Rollspeed, a Swiss-based investment fund. In 2013, Michael was the first Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) for SystemsX, Switzerland’s largest (800M CHF) early stage life sciences fund, and served as a mentor for the ETH Entrepreneurship Lab. Prior to 2013, Michael served as Chairman of Genebio, a bioinformatics software firm, for 4 years and sat on the Strategic Advisory Committee for HealthTIES, an EU-backed consortium of four of Europe’s top regions in biosciences, medical technology and health entrepreneurship. Previous to his move to Switzerland in 2004, Michael co-founded two US-based firms: Netelligent Corporation and ActiveObjects, where he held the roles of President, Chairman and CEO respectively. Mr. Dillhyon holds degrees in Biochemistry and Anthropology, as well as a MBA from the Olin School of Business. He has completed residencies at Harvard Business School , the London School of Business, UC-Berkeley (Venture Capital Executive) and Fudan University.
