Leo Lewis, Senior Fellow at the International Foundation for Integrated Care, gives an overview of Integrated Care and the collective of services and organizations it comprises. Leo then gives some insights in the benefits and the implementation aspects of Integrated Care. We also talk about Change Management, one of the key challenges in executing large scale deployments of Integrated Care services. Interviewed by TTC’s George Voulgaris.

Senior Fellow at the International Foundation for Integrated Care

For more than 20 years, Leo Lewis has worked as a health informatician in academic, NHS and government sectors. She has successfully led and managed a range of information and communication technology-enabled health and social care service improvements. The knowledge and experience Leo has gained is now being further enhanced in a role she took up in early 2013 as senior fellow in the International Foundation for Integrated Care where she is working on a number of European projects sharing and extending the learning on integrated care and continuously examining ways to improve the service user experience of care and support.

The eHealth Forum 2014 brought together a High-Level eHealth Experts’ Conference on European Priorities, the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP AHA) – incorporating events and an exhibition, a meeting of the eHealth Network, the 4th EU-US eHealth Marketplace & Cooperation Assembly, and much more. The Forum demonstrated how eHealth can further develop existing partnerships to enhance and safeguard access to care and quality of life. It showcased how ICT and innovation on a large scale in health and care systems can contribute to sustainability, economic growth and job opportunities during challenging times.
