IoT will need Security of Data & better Management of Devices
Costis Papadimitrakopoulos, CEO of Globo presents his company, an international leader and technology innovator delivering multi-platform enterprise mobility management and telecom software solutions. He talks about the significance of security in the era of IoT and how his company is evolving it’s product architecture to offer security of data and better management of devices. He also adds that their future plans are to provide their software as open source in order to create a larger ecosystem. Interviewed by Vicki Kolovou for Tech Talks Central.

It’s not about devices anymore, it’s not about mobile devices; ok the dialogue about new devices and functionalities is always there from the big vendors; but the biggest thing I see evolving is the convergence of all this communication and connected devices between them. So, the ex M2M play, machine-to-machine play is now transforming into IoT. The biggest trend that is evolving in front of us. It has been discussed for many years and has been an expectation through the research community and also the industry but I see here that there are already some companies positioned, offering products and promoting their technologies and I see that as we progress, year by year, we will see Internet of Things transforming the whole mobile space into something way bigger than we have ever imagined…”

Costis Papadimitrakopoulos holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens. From 1989 to 1995 he was Operations & Exports Manager for his family’s fruit processing business, Sparti Hellas S.A, where he gained experience for the markets in Greece, the Balkans and Eastern Europe.
